NBA stars stage Katrina fundraiser
Tracy McGrady scored 21 points to spark the West past the East 114-95 in an NBA All-Star fundraiser for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

A crowd of 11,416 in Houston spent between $15 and $300 for seats with all money going to victims of the disaster.

More than 5,000 people who fled the storm and flood damage were given free tickets by players.

LeBron James, Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant are among the NBA stars who have visited evacuees from New Orleans.

Former Houston Rockets player Kenny Smith, now a TV commentator, organised the game in less than a week.

Indiana's Ron Artest, banished most of last season after a brawl with spectators at a game in Detroit, played his first game since his suspension.

Other NBA All-Stars playing included Dwyane Wade, Rashard Lewis, Amare Stoudemire, Jermaine O'Neal, Steve Francis, Stephon Marbury of and Jerry Stackhouse.
