Daley recorded a personal best score to win silver in Sheffield |
British diver Tom Daley will miss next week's final leg of the World Series in Mexico after his physiotherapist was denied a visa to enter the country. The 14-year-old won 10m platform silver in the third stage in Sheffield but needs treatment on his sore back. And as his physio cannot travel, Daley has been told to focus his attentions on July's World Championships in Rome. "I need to stay on top of things with stretching and treatment on my back so I need my physio," said Daley. "My back is a lot better, I've been getting loads of treatment on it but I'm not going to Mexico. | 606: DEBATE |
"Instead, I will be going out to America next Thursday for a training camp in preparation for the World Championships." Daley showed no signs of the injury on Sunday when he recorded a personal best score of 540.85 points at Pond's Forge, missing out on gold by only 0.60 points to China's Liang Huo. His next competition will be an outdoor Grand Prix event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 7-9 May and will serve as ideal preparation for the World Championships, which are also being held in an outdoor pool.
