Jemma Lowe won the 100 metres butterfly final at the National Championships in Sheffield on Sunday. The 17-year-old twice broke the British record during the heats, having already claimed a silver medal in the 50m.
In the process Lowe became the first Welsh woman to break a British record in more than 30 years.
Lowe, swimming for Borough of Stockton, produced a fine burst over the last 20m in the 100m final to overhaul Fran Halsall, touching first in 59.26secs.
