British swimmers won three more bronzes at the European short-course championships in Helsinki. Jo Jackson (400m freestyle), Darren Mew (50m breaststroke) and the women's 4x50m medley relay team all added to Britain's medal tally.
Jackson was third behind French star Laure Manaudou who improved her own world record which she set in Trieste last December.
Manaudou clocked three minutes 56.09 seconds with Jackson managing 4:01.48.
Mew put in a strong swim but finished behind world record holder Oleg Lisogor of the Ukraine, who set a new championship best of 26.50, and Italian Alessandro Terrin.
The relay team of Lizzie Simmonds, Kate Haywood, Ros Brett and Francesca Halsall were just edged out for silver by .12 of a second by Sweden in the final race of the day.
Germany took gold in 1:47.55 with Sweden clocking 1:48.14 and the British quartet managing 1:48.26.
David Davies, on his way back from injury and illness, could only finish fifth in the 1500m freestyle.
Kate Haywood and Kirsty Balfour qualified second and third fastest for Sunday's 100m breaststroke final while Terri Dunning and Ros Brett (100m butterfly) and Gregor Tait (100m backstroke) also reached their respective finals.
