The finals at next year's British Swimming Championships will be held in the morning to help prepare the team for the demands of the 2008 Olympics. Organisers of the Beijing Games have moved the finals and semi-finals to the morning to accommodate US TV audiences.
British swimmers are used to peaking in the afternoon and so need to adapt.
The 2007 British Championships, which will be held in Manchester from 26 March, will also include B finals in some events as well as junior finals.
National performance director Bill Sweetenham feels the new format for the British Championships will greatly benefit his swimmers.
"This should provide a great opportunity not only for our senior athletes but for the vast number of our junior swimmers to get more swims under pressure at our British Championships," said Sweetenham.
