Britain's swimmers made a dream start to the Mare Nostrum in Barcelona, picking up five medals on day one. Chris Cook clocked 28.11 seconds to land 50m breaststroke gold, while Elizabeth Simmonds won 200m backstroke silver in a personal best 2:13.68.
Olympic finalist Gregor Tait won bronze in the men's 200m backstroke, just ahead of team-mate James Goddard.
And Loughborough University's Joe Roebuck swam 2:04.81 in the 200m individual medley to take bronze.
