Hungary's Laszlo Cseh made it two world records in two days when he set a new mark for the 400m medley at the European Short-Course Championships. Cseh clocked four minutes 0.37 seconds in Trieste to shatter the previous record, set by Canada's Brian Johns in 2003, by more than two seconds.
Cseh, who broke the 200m medley record on Thursday, left Luca Marin and Alessio Boggiatto trailing in his wake.
There was also a world record for Laure Manaudou in the women's 800m freestyle.
The 19-year-old clinched France's first gold medal of the meet in a time of 8:11.25, eclipsing the previous mark of 8:13.35 set by Japan's Sachiko Yamada in January, 2002.
Manaudou added another gold for France by winning the 100m backstroke.
