Chris Cook maintained his impressive form by winning the men's 100m event at the Canet leg of the Mare Nostrum tour. The City of Newcastle swimmer beat Darren Mew into second and Russian Grigory Falko into third, while James Gibson came fifth in the France event.
Head coach Graham Bassi said: "It was a good night for Chris (Cook) and he looked very controlled in his swim.
"He was well worth his victory and continues to shine, while Darren and James can also take positives."
Todd Cooper took the silver in the 100m butterfly in 52.88 seconds, while Mark Foster was fifth in the 50m freestyle final in 22.88.
The next leg of the tour takes place in Rome at the weekend.
