There were no surprises in round one of the Guernsey Senior Closed Squash Tournament with the three favourites progressing into the quarter-finals.

Ben Rosec, Ross Kneller and Henry Birch all won in straight sets at Beau Sejour on Thursday night.

Rose beat Gary Rich, Kneller overcame Harry Martel, while Birch beat Andy Parr 3-0.

The trio have subsequently avoided each other in the draw for the last eight which will be played on Friday.

The Ladies draw also kicks into action on Friday with the start of the first round.

Channel Islands champion Issey Norman-Ross faces Karen Millard in her first game.
