England reached the final of the Men's World Team Squash Championships for the first time since 1997 after Nick Matthew clinched victory over Canada. Peter Nicol put England ahead with a 9-4 9-2 9-6 win over Graham Ryding but Jonathon Power beat James Willstrop 3-9 7-9 4-9 to level the match in Pakistan.
However, world number 10 Matthew did not disappoint, claiming a commanding 10-8 9-2 9-0 win over Shahier Razik.
England will face Eygpt in Wednesday's final after they beat France 2-1.
"We're ready for whoever we come up against," said England coach Paul Carter, whose team are the top seeds and favourites to win the title.
"The squad has been working well together - we've been maintaining a low profile here as we've been getting on with business."
In the play-offs for the lower positions, Scotland overcame Kuwait 2-1 to take 13th while Ireland had to settle for 20th after losing 3-0 to Spain.
