Semis defeats end English dreams
Peter Nicol and Amr Shabana
English pair Peter Nicol and James Willstrop failed to reach the men's final of the World Open Championships after semi-finals defeats in Hong Kong.

Sixth seed Nicol was beaten in straight sets by Egypt's Amr Shabana while Willstrop lost 11-9 13-11 12-10 to Australian eighth seed David Palmer.

Compatriot Rachael Grinham reached the women's final after a 10-8 9-6 9-4 win over her sister Natalie.

She will face Nicol David, who beat Vanessa Atkinson 6-9 9-1 10-9 9-3.
