Vanessa Atkinson is the new women's world number one after spending the last 11 months in second place behind Australia's Rachael Grinham. The 29-year-old star, born in England but raised in the Netherlands, is the first Dutch player to top the rankings.
Vicky Botwright rises to a career-high number five to become Britain's top-ranked player for the first time.
Two other English players are also high in the new standings. Alison Waters is 12th and Laura-Jane Lengthorn is 16th.
