Nicol leads England squash squad
Peter Nicol
Nicol has enjoyed a great deal of Commonwealth success
Peter Nicol will lead England to the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, next March.

The world number six, a medallist at the last two Games, will be joined by James Willstrop, Nick Matthew, Adrian Grant and fourth-ranked Lee Beachill.

Linda Elriani, Vicky Botwright, Jenny Duncalf, Tania Bailey and Alison Waters make up the women's team in Melbourne.

"We feel that we have extremely strong squads - which basically picked themselves," said coach David Pearson.

"We picked our Commonwealth Games squads early to give the players maximum time to plan for the event.

It will also give us the chance to work on our doubles partnerships, details of which we will announce later."

After winning singles gold and doubles bronze for Scotland in 1998, Nicol added singles silver and doubles gold for England in 2002.
