Video - O'Sullivan makes majestic century World number one Ronnie O'Sullivan set up a second-round clash against world champion John Higgins with a 5-3 defeat of Jamie Burnett in the Grand Prix. The 33-year-old, who won the season-opening Shanghai Masters, rarely hit his straps, a 126 break aside, but still had too much for the Scotsman. And he looked immediately to his match against another Scot, Higgins, saying: "I will have to raise my game." Another former world champion Mark Williams also secured his progress. The 34-year-old Welshman never gave Englishman Stuart Bingham a look-in with a 5-0 demolition at Kelvin Hall, Glasgow. | 606: DEBATE |
Williams, who is building up his form after breaking his wrist earlier this year, will now face seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry. World number two Stephen Maguire suffered a slight scare in his game with Nigel Bond, who held a 3-1 lead at the mid-match interval. But the Scot came out after the break and took the next four frames to wrap up victory. In the final round one match, Mark King came from 3-1 to beat Ricky Walden in a dramatic final frame. Walden looked certain to win when he opened up a big enough lead to leave King needing three snookers. But incredibly, he got them and then potted the pink before holding his nerve to sink a tricky black to win frame and match.
