Holt was desperate to qualify for the World Championship at The Crucible |
Michael Holt came from behind to see off Dominic Dale and qualify for the World Championship at The Crucible. Nottingham-born Holt, 30, was 7-4 behind to the Welshman but proceeded to win six frames in a row to secure his Crucible berth with a 10-7 win. "It was a great recovery and I'm proud of myself," said Holt. "My attitude has been so much better during this season. I've been winning matches where I haven't felt great but I've really dug in." He added: "I've still not really done anything, I've just been getting to last 16s, but I know I can beat anyone as long as I give myself the chance. "Dropping out of the top 32 helped me because I've been playing more games and I realised I had to sort my head out." Holt will find out his first-round opponent when the draw for the televised stages of the World Snooker Championship is made live on BBC Radio Sheffield on Wednesday, 11 March at 0945 GMT.
