Teenage snooker ace Judd Trump has set his sights on next week's Bahrain Snooker Championships.

Trump is confident going into the event (8-15 November) after his 5-4 win against Ronnie O'Sullivan in the Royal London Watches Grand Prix in October.

The 19-year-old told BBC Points West: "You never know what can happen this year. Maybe I can win the Bahrain.

"The main thing is getting some good ranking points this season and maybe aiming for the top 10 to 16 next year."

He added: "I've got a lot of improving still to get to the top but I'm actually getting there."

Trump said he believes the lower-ranked players will do well in Bahrain.

"A lot of the top ones have pulled out," he said. "This could be a good tournament for the juniors."

Trump targets Bahrain competition

Trump will face Northern Ireland's Mark Allen, ranked 16th in the world.

"It should be a good game against him," added Trump. "And, if I can keep him tight, it should be okay."

The world's top 16 are automatically seeded, joined in the draw by 10 qualifiers and six local wild cards.
