Matthew Stevens took little time to win the three frames he needed for victory against Joe Delaney and book himself a place in the last 16 at the Crucible. Stevens opened up with a 48 and only needed a couple of visits each in the 11th and 12th for his win.
Irishman Delaney, who had qualified for the first time, had a mountain to climb after falling 7-2 behind.
Nerves and several fouls cost him dear in the first session, with Stevens rarely having to hit top gear.
