Dott and Hendry through at York
Graeme Dott
Current and former world champions Graeme Dott and Stephen Hendry progressed to the third round of the UK Championship at York on Saturday.

Reigning world champion Dott easily saw off Scott Mackenzie 9-2 but Hendry was made to work hard for his 9-7 victory over Dave Harold.

Ding Junhui, the holder of this title, resumes on Sunday at 4-4 with Ryan Day.

Another ex-world champ, Ken Doherty, completes his match against Mike Dunn, and at 7-1 up will expect to progress.

Hendry was 6-3 up at one stage, but Harold stormed back to 7-7 before the Scot finished him off.

Doherty, provisionally ranked number one in the world, will fully expect to complete the job against world number 51 Dunn, the lowest ranked player remaining in the competition, when their match resumes at 1200 GMT on Sunday.

Ding and Day also resume at 1200, with 19-year-old Ding hoping to be more on his game after only arriving in York late on Friday having competed for China at the Asian Games.
