Davis reached his 100th final in last year's event |
Veteran Steve Davis hopes to go one better than last year at the 2006 UK Championship at the Barbican Centre. The 49-year-old beat defending champion Stephen Maguire, Ken Doherty and Stephen Hendry before losing to Ding Junhui in the final.
"I underachieved against Ding," said Davis. "It would be wonderful to get a tailwind behind me and have another long run in the tournament."
The six-time world and UK champion has not won a ranking event for 11 years.
