Wrist injury forces Williams out
Mark Williams
Williams was in pain during his matches in Aberdeen
Former world champion Mark Williams has been forced to withdraw from this week's Grand Prix in Aberdeen because of a wrist injury.

Williams had played three group matches but has decided that the pain and discomfort was too much to continue in the tournament.

"My wrist is hurting and I can't play properly," said the Welshman.

"I don't want to make it worse so I have decided to pull out and rest it before the next tournament."

Williams is hoping to return for the UK Championship at the Barbican Centre in York in December.
