Cracknell won gold in both Sydney and latterly Athens |
James Cracknell will make a decision in the next two weeks over whether he will compete at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The two-time Olympic champion bowed out of the sport after winning gold in Athens in 2004, saying at the time he could yet return.
And he told BBC Sport: "I've just given myself a couple of weeks to decide on the Beijing Olympics.
"First of all I need to see if I really want to do it and also if my body's in the shape to do it."
Cracknell repeated his gold in Sydney in 2000 with the ultimate prize in Greece four years later as part of Britain's prized coxless four.
But the 33-year-old returned only last week from his death-defying 3,000-mile row across the Atlantic with television presenter Ben Fogle, which took the pair nearly 50 days to complete. "As a result of it, I've lost muscle in certain areas - the glutes for example," he said, "which I need to see if I can build back up.
"Added to that I feel like I've done a lot of rowing of late."
