Organisers of the 2012 Olympics have finalised their masterplan for the Olympic Park in east London. The only major change to the revised plans will see the volleyball event move out of the main park to another venue, likely to be Earl's Court.
London 2012 chairman Lord Sebastian Coe said the plans would dictate how the venues would be used after the Games.
Coe said: "Six years out from hosting the Games, we have a compact site that works for the community afterwards."
The Olympic Park will be built on 306 hectares (756 acres) of land in Stratford.
It will accommodate the Olympic Stadium, aquatics centre, Olympic Village as well as hockey, cycling and tennis facilities that will all be used after the Games.
The International Olympic Committee and the relevant sporting bodies have approved the masterplan.
That green light means the London team can now move on to the next stage of development for the Olympics and Paralympics.
London's Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) chief David Higgins said: "We have hit a major milestone."
