Chris Boardman has been named in a list of nine "elite coaches" who will go on a fast-track development programme over the next three years. UK Sport hopes the group, which also includes Olympic silver medallists Ian Barker and Kate Howey, will drive medal success at the next two Olympic Games.
"Coaches will play a critical role in our ambition to move up the Olympic medal table," said Liz Nicholl.
"This new breed of elite coach will be capable of inspiring our athletes."
