David Hemery and Colin Moynihan are the candidates to become the new chairman of the British Olympic Association. The two were nominated by BOA members to contest an 5 October election. Craig Reedie is stepping down after 13 years.
Hemery, a vice-chairman of the BOA, won Olympic gold in the 400m hurdles at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.
Moynihan, Sports Minister from 1987-90 under Margaret Thatcher, won a rowing silver medal at the 1980 Moscow Games as the cox to the men's eight.
Hemery, a former president of UK Athletics, was part of the London bid delegation in Singapore which helped secure the 2012 Games.
