Mentor is joining Australian side Adelaide Thunderbirds |
Two Team Bath netball players are heading 'down under' to take part in the sport's biggest club competition. Senior England internationals Tamsin Greenway and Geva Mentor are joining teams in ANZ Championship.
The new competition features five teams from Australia and five from New Zealand, who are regarded as the two powerhouses of international netball.
Greenway, 25, will play for Queensland Firebirds while Mentor, 23, is joining Adelaide Thunderbirds.
Greenway who plays wing-attack or goal-attack said she was excited by the new challenge.
"It's a massive opportunity for me to be asked to play in the best club league in the world.
"It's a real privilege for an England player to be considered good enough to be asked, which just shows how much the English game has come on."
"I will be back though, I plan to be back for the start of pre-season and to win the Superleague title with Team Bath again next year."
Mentor, who plays goal-defence or goal-keeper, said: "It's going to be a really exciting experience and it should be good for my game."
The two players were members of the England team that finished fourth at the World Championships in New Zealand in November.
