England dominated their African opponents |
England secured their place in the Netball World Championship semi-finals with an 81-37 demolition of Malawi. After a slow start, England dominated the match, enjoying quarter leads of 21-8, 46-14 and 66-26 in Auckland.
"It's nice to get through that one," said coach Margaret Caldow as England set up a semi-final against Australia.
"At this stage and you're never quite sure what's going to happen and how you're going to perform, but we're through and that's the main thing."
England vice-captain Karen Atkinson said: "It's good to have the win but our focus is on Australia in the semis.
"We're looking forward to the challenge because they are the only team we haven't beaten this year."
The Aussies won through to their final-four meeting with England by beating the Cook Islands 90-22.
Jamaica handed Samoa a 73-42 defeat and will now face hosts and defending champions New Zealand, who saw off South Africa 82-23.
