Dan Carlson upset with manner of Coventry Blaze exit
Carlson played more than 400 games for Coventry
Coventry Blaze's departing forward Dan Carlson admits losing to Belfast Giants in the play-offs was not how he intended to call time on his career.
The 31-year-old American has finally decided to hang up his skates following his six seasons at the Skydome.
Carlson told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "It's a disappointing way to finish a career after so many great memories. I've had some great times.
"We've done a lot of winning here and won a lot more than we lost."
Carlson first joined Blaze in 2004 and helped the club win the Elite League, Challenge Cup and play-offs in his first campaign.
After a season in Munich, he returned and has since picked up three more league titles, another Challenge Cup and the British Knockout Cup. He is also Coventry's all-time leading scorer.
Carlson added: "I've made some great friends here. Everyone's been fantastic and I'll miss that. I'll have to come back and visit.
"Coventry's been my home for six of the last seven years and it's as long as I've been anywhere."
