Nottingham Panthers record ninth straight league win
David Clarke has scored 22 goals so far this season
Nottingham Panthers continued their impressive form with another weekend double that stretched their winning sequence to nine league matches.
David Clarke's third hat-trick of the season inspired Panthers to a 5-4 win at Edinburgh Capitals on Sunday.
Rob Bellamy and Jonathon Zion were also on target for the visitors, who raced into a 5-1 lead but had to survive a brave late comeback from the home side.
On Saturday, Panthers came from two goals down to triumph 6-3 at Braehead.
Player-coach Corey Neilson, Matthew Myers (2), Clarke, and David-Alexandre Beauregard (2) scored the goals, but Canadian Jade Galbraith was the star with five assists.
The double win sees Panthers move up to second spot in the Elite League table, a point behind Belfast Giants but with a game in hand.
Captain Danny Meyers told BBC Radio Nottingham: "That's nine league wins in a row. We are really, really pleased. It was only three weeks ago that we were really down after losing three in a row.
"But we have responded well after the Sheffield loss at home and confidence is really high at the moment."
