Doug Christansen is coach of the Belfast Giants

Gerard Adams of the Cardiff Devils and Paul Thompson of Coventry will help coach the Belfast Giants Select for the game against NHL side Boston Bruins.

Thompson, who is also coach of the Great Britain team, and Adams will work with Giants coach Doug Christansen for the glamour match on 2 October.

The team will be an Elite League select but is playing under the Belfast Giants banner in the Odyssey Arena.

The Bruins begin their season against Phoenix Coyotes the following weekend.

"As a league, we are taking this game extremely seriously," said Belfast Giants general manager Todd Kelman.

"The players selected will understand we are facing one of the best teams in the world in the lead up to the start of their season."
