Nottingham Panthers have signed former NHL forward Jay Henderson until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has played 33 games in the NHL with Boston Bruins after they drafted him in 1997.

Defenceman Mario Larocque has been released and Swedish forward Johan Molin returns to a part-time contract.

Coach Corey Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Jay is a gritty, grinding player and will give us a spark that I feel has been missing in some games."

Henderson has extensive experience in Europe in Austria and three seasons in the highly rated DEL, the top league in Germany.

"A number of guys have seen him play and I haven't hard anything but great things about him as a character," Neilson added.

"When I asked him as a player what can he do he replied he is a winner, everywhere he goes he is a winner."

British forward Ross Dalgleish has been given the all-clear to resume playing after his long-standing shoulder injury.

He is expected to ice for Peterborough in the EPL this weekend in order to gain valuable match time and conditioning.
