Cameron Mann scored Panthers sixth goal against Cardiff
Nottingham Panthers have returned to the top of the Elite League after a 6-5 victory over the Cardiff Devils.
David Clarke got two of the goals for Panthers with Kevin Bergin, Dominic D'Amour, Sean McAslan and Cameron Mann netting one each.
Assistant-coach Bruce Richardson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We managed to get a lot of scoring chances and could've scored more goals.
"It was a funny game but it's the end result which counts."
The game at the National Ice Centre also counted as a Challenge Cup result and ensured Panthers finished top of their group.
"We went with different lines and I thought the guys responded really well," Richardson added.
"I thought the guys moved the puck really well and did the detailed things. When you do the detailed things there is no way you are going to lose a game."
Panthers return to action with a home game in the league against Newcastle on Wednesday.
