Jeff Szwez was man of the match on his debut against Nottingham

The Belfast Giants completed a good weekend by winning 5-2 away to the Newcastle Vipers to qualify for the Challenge Cup semi-finals on Sunday.

It follows Saturday's 3-0 win over the Nottingham Panthers which briefly put them top of the Elite League.

Jeff Szwez scored two on his debut for the Giants with the other goal coming from Colin Shields.

The Panthers reclaimed top spot in the table with a 6-5 win over the Cardiff Devils on Sunday.
