Gascon has contributed six assists in three pre-season games |
Nottingham Panthers forward Marty Gascon is loving his new city after his move from North America last month. The 28-year-old French-Canadian joined the Panthers in the summer from the Central Hockey League. Gascon told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I'm settling in and getting to know the city and the organisation. I have got to say I'm having a blast. "I can't wait to the real season underway and everyone in the room feels the same." Panthers begin their Elite League campaign on Saturday night at home to Belfast, before travelling to Coventry in the Challenge Cup on Sunday. Gascon is playing on a line with Scottish youngster Ross Dalgliesh and former NHL forward Cameron Mann. Mann has played nearly 100 times in the world's top league, the NHL, for Boston and Nashville. "I think it's just a treat for me right now," added Gascon. "I remember when I was younger him (Mann) playing for Team Canada at the World Championships, and for us back home, that's a pretty big deal. "I remember his name and now he's on my line. He played all those NHL games and it's great for me to have him on my line. "I think I'll learn a lot from him and he'll made me a better player."
