Great Britain suffered a second successive defeat in their World Championship Division One campaign when they lost 5-2 to Italy in Poland. Trevor Johnson, Stefano Marchetti and Diego Iori netted for Italy in the first period as Britain went 3-0 down. Stefano Margoni and Patrick Iannone struck in the second period, before Colin Shields nicked one back. Britain performed better in the final period, out-shooting Italy 19-7 and Robert Dowd scoring the only goal. GB coach Paul Thompson's side, beaten 4-2 by Ukraine on the opening day, will now aim to register their first victory of the tournament when they face Romania on Tuesday. Pre-tournament favourites Italy, looking to reclaim their place among the world's elite, thrashed Romania 11-0 on Saturday.
