Bobby Robins and Steve Thornton in action for Belfast over the weekend

Nottingham avenged their defeat at the Odyssey Arena on Friday when they hammered the Belfast Giants on Sunday.

After a scoreless first period, Brendan Cook and Dan Tessier scored powerplay goals for the Panthers before Evan Cheverie replied for the Giants.

Jade Galbraith was on target twice to put the Panthers 4-1 up before Bobby Robins replied to give the Giants hope.

But further goals by Galbraith, Johan Molin and Rumun Ndur saw Nottingham running out comfortable winners.

On Friday, the Giants had come from 3-1 down to secure a 4-3 victory over the Nottingham.

The home side took the lead through Mike Burgoyne but Nottingham hit back to score three goals.

Scores from Dave Phillips and player-coach Steve Thornton levelled the contest before Malcolm McMillan netted the winner.
