Paul Deniset scores the first goal for the Belfast Giants

The Belfast Giants surrendered a 2-1 lead to eventually lose 5-2 to Manchester Phoenix in Friday night's Elite League game at the Odyssey Arena.

After a scoreless first period, Paul Deniset scored for Belfast, Tony Hand replied but Colin Shields made it 2-1.

David Beauregard netted a hat-trick in the third period and Nathan Ward completed the scoring for Manchester.

The Giants now travel to the Sheffield Arena to play Sheffield Steelers on Saturday night.
