Manchester Phoenix captain Kenton Smith has assured fans they will improve despite successive defeats to Sheffield Steelers at the weekend. Phoenix lost 7-3 in Sheffield on Saturday before being beaten 5-4 at home the next day. Smith said: "We will bounce back and learn from the errors we made. "We were unlucky not to get something from the game [on Sunday], we all thought David [Beauregard] had given us the lead but the ref differed." He added: "They made the most of that incident by scoring two quickly to take the period. "Missing Tony [Hand] and Murph [Stephen Murphy] was tough but to lose Bruce Mulherin was another big loss to us."
