Telford bring in forward Knight

Telford Tigers

Telford Tigers have signed former Hull Stingrays forward James Knight.

The 22-year-old scored nine goals and made nine assists in his 62 games for the Elite League side last season.

Tigers coach Claude Dumas said: "James was one of the key players we were looking to sign this year. He did well at Hull and wants to play more.

"He will certainly get more ice time here. He's big and strong with good stats, and this is the type of player we need. He'll bring a real presence."

Knight said: "Claude's told me about the team he's building and I'm certainly up for the challenge."

Knight was born in Kent, but moved to Canada when he was 10.

He played for Moose Jaw Warriors, Saskatchewan, in the Western Hockey League in two of that team's strongest seasons before heading back to England to join the Stingrays in 2006.
