Great Britain international forward Russell Cowley will leave Coventry Blaze after failing to agree a deal.

Cowley was part of the treble-winning squad last season but did not agree personal terms on a new deal.

Head coach Paul Thompson told the club website: "I would have liked Russell back, we talked several times but it was clear we were getting nowhere."

Utility-man KC Timmons has not been offered a new deal, but net-minder Steve Fone has extended his stay.

Fone, entering his third season at Coventry, was the third netminder for Great Britain team at the World Championships in Austria.

Thompson said: "He's been an important member of our team for the last two years and that will be the same during the coming season."
