Netminder Davis Parley has signed for Nottingham Panthers to complete their roster for the new season.

The 25-year-old Canadian comes to the National Ice Centre after three years in South Carolina.

Coach Corey Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "He's the guy we wanted right from the start.

"He has a great pedigree. He plays the puck well and that's going to be a big part of our game. He has good stats and ticks all the right boxes."

Parley was drafted in the NHL as a fourth-round pick in 2000 and began his professional career in Texas in 2003.

In the 2004/05 season he was traded to Bakersfield where former Panther Ryan Gillis was a team-mate.

In November 2005, he moved to South Carolina and gained experience in the AHL with Hershey Bears.

He has posted save percentages in excess of 90% in each year as a professional.
