Bergin, 25, scored 61 points in 60 games for Nottingham's Elite League rivals Basingstoke Bison last season before heading to play in Switzerland.

The Panthers have applied for a work permit with a view to getting clearance for Bergin to play as soon as possible.

Nottingham coach Mike Ellis said: "Kevin is a high energy, hard working player and he has told us he is really excited to be joining us."
