Belfast Giants ended a nightmare run of six successive defeats when they scored a resounding victory away to Edinburgh Capitals on Sunday night. Scott Cameron, coach Ed Courtenay and Mark Dutiaume scored to put the Giants 3-0 up by the end of the first period.
Ryan Smith and a powerplay score from Courtenay made it 5-0 in the second.
In other Elite League matches Coventry Blaze beat Manchester Phoenix 3-2 and Newcastle Vipers had a 5-4 success over Sheffield Steelers after a shoot-out.
In the Challenge Cup, the Nottingham Panthers won 3-0 away to Cardiff Devils.
Belfast play bottom club Cardiff in the league at home on Tuesday.
