Tony Hand moved to Belfast from the Edinburgh Capitals |
Belfast Giants coach Tony Hand has admitted he is uncertain about whether to stay on for a second season. The British ice hockey legend has spent the last seven months away from his Edinburgh-based family and will consult with them before making up his mind.
"Whether I come back to Belfast or not is nothing to do with finances, it is purely personal," said Hand.
"I have spoken to the general manager John Elliott about things. My wife and children miss me and I miss them."
Hand said he had only spent a couple of days with his family in the last three weeks.
"I have not been able to discuss things with my wife because it is not the type
of thing you can really talk through over the telephone," he added.
"I have enjoyed the season, but I will have to sit down and speak with my
wife about what is going to happen."
The Giants finished second in the Elite League but are out of the Play-offs.
