Ryan Moore will miss the four-day York Ebor Festival because of a wrist injury sustained in a fall last week.

The champion jockey, 26, had several rides, including Total Command in the Great Voltigeur Stakes on the Tuesday, the popular meeting's first day.

Olivier Peslier has been booked to replace Moore on the St Leger hopeful.

Before Tuesday's racing, Moore was third as he tried to retain his title, on 103 season winners, behind Paul Hanagan (125) and Richard Hughes (113).

Moore, a three-time champion, fell from his mount Rocket Rob at Windsor on 9 August after finishing third and was taken to hospital for X-rays.

In June, he won both the Oaks and the Derby, on Snow Fairy and Workforce respectively.
