Australian-trained Takeover Target will miss Saturday's Golden Jubilee Stakes with a temperature.

The 10-year-old, whose rags-to-riches rise from AUS$1400 (£700) purchase to world star is due to become a movie, was scratched by trainer Joe Janiak.

Takeover Target has run in six Royal Ascot races in three years, winning the 2006 King's Stand Stakes.

A record of never finishing out of the first four has made him a major favourite with the crowds.

The race might well have been the Royal Ascot regular's swansong at the meeting with Janiak suggesting age is catching up with his sprinting star.
