New Uttoxeter commercial manager James Elston is hoping to help turn the Staffordshire racecourse into one of the premier venues in the country. He told BBC Radio Stoke: "I believe I can fulfil my ambition by branching out to a bigger catchment area of people." Elston, 32, previously worked for a company that has been involved with the Grand National at Aintree. Uttoxeter's next meeting is on Saturday (16 May - first race the 5.50), which is also the annual James Bond Night. As well as the six National Hunt races on the card, there is a Shirley Bassey tribute act. There will also be a display of Aston Martin cars. Gates open 1600 BST (last race is the 8.30).
