Butler's Cabin is well fancied for the Aintree race

Tony McCoy will ride Butler's Cabin as he seeks to win his first Aintree Grand National on Saturday.

McCoy, who has finished third in the race three times, had the choice of four JP McManus-owned entries.

But the 12-times champion jockey has stayed loyal to the Jonjo O'Neill-trained horse, who he partnered to the Irish Grand National last year.

"He will be grand if the ground stays good but I wouldn't want it to get very soft or heavy," said O'Neill.

It is understood though that if conditions turned heavy, McCoy could switch to the Arthur Moore-trained King Johns Castle.

Mick Fitzgerald will ride Francois Doumen's L'Ami, while riding plans for O'Neill's Bob Hall have yet to be finalised.

Speaking about Butler's Cabin, O'Neill said: "The horse is in grand old form.

"We are happy with him at home and he schooled the other morning and everything is A-OK."
