Pitchcroft under water during last year's Worcester floods

After losing 15 meetings in 2007, parts of the Pitchcroft track are again under water - to raise a doubt over this year's first meeting on Sunday 6 April.

But Worcester racecourse official Jenny Cheshire is optimistic.

"There's water on the home straight," she said. "But we don't know how quickly it'll dry".
