McCoy will be fit for the Festival, which starts on 11 March |
Tony McCoy has been passed fit by the British Horseracing Authority to ride at next week's Cheltenham Festival and will return at Sandown on Saturday. McCoy has been out since 12 January with a back injury.
The 12-times champion jockey was given the go-ahead to return to the saddle by his own doctor last week.
And on Friday, Dr Michael Turner, the BHA's chief medical officer, said: "AP (McCoy) has been cleared by me to ride on Saturday if he wants to."

Over the last week McCoy has been riding out for trainer Jonjo O'Neill, including a stint at Stratford racecourse on Monday, where he partnered Black Jack Ketchum.
McCoy suffered the back injury in a fall at Warwick and had to wait for Dr Turner to be satisfied with the various medical reports before being allowed to return to action.
His recovery has been aided by Kriotherapy treatment, which involves going into an insulated compartment with temperatures as low as minus 135 degrees.
