Grand National contender Longshanks is expected to be fit for the big race despite suffering a bruised foot. Trainer Kim Bailey has sent his stable star to an equine spa for treatment ahead of the 14 April race at Aintree after the 10-year-old trod on a stone.
"There is never a good time to bruise a foot but if he was going to test us I am thankful we have two weeks to go, not seven days," said Bailey.
Longshanks, a 25-1 chance this time, has twice missed the National cut.
The horse has been exercising in the spa's swimming pool, and is due to return to Bailey's Gloucestershire stable later in the week.
